What to expect

The monument, a work by sculptor Paul Day by the banks of the Thames, vividly illustrates scenes from the Battle and commemorates every airman who flew. The memorial is intended to be interactive as the figures stand in relief and the whole monument is multifaceted. Blind and partially sighted visitors are invited to touch. It is a low-level sculpture that can be appreciated easily by everyone as it is easy to view from all sides.

Directions

The monument is easy to reach and very central, situated in Westminster at Victoria Embankment - the north bank of the Thames between the Elizabeth Tower / Big Ben and the Hungerford Bridge / Charing Cross station. It faces the London Eye on the opposite side of the river. The nearest tube station is Westminster on the Circle, District or Jubilee Lines.
