Airfield Gate Guardian
This full-sized fibreglass model Hurricane has the markings of No. 504 Squadron Hurricane 1 P2725, which was the aircraft flown from RAF Hendon, now the RAF Museum, by Sergeant Ray Holmes on 15 September 1940 – the story of this Hurricane is featured in more detail in the description of the Rolls Royce Merlin III engine. You see here the standard aircraft paintwork of brown/green patched camouflage, which wasn’t changed until 1941.
