On 8 May 1945 representatives of the German High Command signed an instrument of unconditional surrender to the Allied Powers. Across the Allied nations and European countries formerly occupied by the Nazis scenes of great joy and celebration were witnessed. Here Harry White, a decorated Mosquito pilot, recalls the end of the war in Europe and the VE Day celebrations he helped organise at RAF West Raynham.
