The Falklands chapel
Corporal Bob Kenton
After leaving school Bob Kenton took a job in a bakery while a friend of his joined the forces. Hearing his stories, he decided to join the RAF in 1974 aged 18. He volunteered for detachment to the Falkland Islands in 1983, where he helped convert shipping containers to offices on the airfield he also converted one to become the airfield’s chapel. Bob left the RAF in 1986 and pursued a career in the NHS.
