RAF Stanley temporary chapel

Shipping container converted for use as a chapel

Facilities on the Falklands were quite rudimentary following the end of the conflict. The chapel then at RAF Stanley was a cold and draughty tent. In 1983 the Ground Engineering Flight at RAF Stanley converted this shipping container to become a more suitable, if temporary, chapel until a permanent chapel could be built at Mount Pleasant Airport, then under construction.
