Air Combat over the Falklands
Lieutenant Commander David Henry Morgan
At the time of the Falklands Conflict David Morgan was a Flight Lieutenant in the RAF serving an exchange tour with the Fleet Air Arm flying the Hawker Siddeley Sea Harrier. The Sea Harrier was primarily tasked with air defence, the main weapon being the Sidewinder air-to-air missile.
Here David recalls intercepting a formation of four Argentinian McDonnell Douglas A-4 Skyhawks. For his actions during the conflict David was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
