Bomb, Cluster, 600lb, Type BL755
Type of cluster bomb used in 1982.
The BL755 in front of you was a type of Cluster Bomb Unit carried by RAF Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.3s during the Falklands Conflict. Dropped at low level, after release the BL755 would open and a gas cartridge eject 147 bomblets over the target. Designed for use against armoured vehicles the fragments from the bomblets had a secondary anti-personnel affect.
During the conflict BL755 was used against a variety of targets such as fuel dumps, aircraft on the ground and infantry positions.
