William Pixton
William (Bill) Pixton, initially joined the RAF as an electronics technician but, while undergoing instruction at RAF Cosford, was persuaded to apply for pilot training. After passing aircrew selection he undertook Officer training followed by flying training in the Chipmunk and Jet Provost. Having been streamed for fast jets he was posted to 4 Flying Training School to be instructed on the Gnat. He would go on to serve as a Jaguar pilot during the Cold War and 1991 Gulf War.
