RAF Hawker Siddeley Harriers flew ground attack operations from the aircraft carrier HMS Hermes during the Falklands Conflict.
This aircraft arrived at Ascension Island after a nine hour ferry flight. It later embarked on HMS Hermes and undertook numerous ground attack sorties against targets on the Falklands including the first ever operational use of a laser guided bomb by an RAF aircraft on Mount Tumbledown.
