Colin Bell trained as a pilot in America, and stayed as an instructor after completing his own training. On returning to the UK, he trained to fly Mosquitos.

Colin then flew on bombing operations over Germany, relying on the Mosquito’s high speed to avoid defences. Here, he explains why Mosquitos compared well to Spitfires.
